About Martin
I have many years of experience in teaching people of all ages and abilities within Cornwall and I have an excellent pass rate.
As well as providing driving lessons and courses to learner drivers of all ages and abilities, I also offer advanced, Pass Plus and eco-driving courses.
I am an instructor on the National Driver Improvement Scheme and a member of the Institute of Advanced Motorists and the Driving Instructors Association. In adition I have passed the DIAmond Advanced Special Driving Test which is coveted by all driving instructors (but achieved by few) and is considered to be both the most difficult to achieve and the most stringent measure of driving ability available in Britain. In May 2009 I took and passed all 5 modules of the Diploma in Driving Instruction. The Diploma is held by very few instructors and is jointly accredited by the DIA and Middlesex University.
I believe in an open, friendly and relaxed approach to driving tuition. I’m known for being extremely patient and encouraging towards nervous or worried learners.
Instruction will be very much tailored to the personality and needs of each individual because everyone’s different and will progress at different speeds.
There are lots of driving schools out there but I hope you will agree that Drive Time goes that extra mile in helping you towards your goal of driving test success and skills for life.

A used car can help new drivers find cheaper car insurance, but read our guide before you buy.
If you've just got your license and you're about to finish the process of purchasing your first car, then one of the main topics on your mind is going to be insurance. It's a legal requirement, of course, but even so, you can find ways to make it as cheap as possible.
It's not going to be next-to-nothing, as you're a first-time driver, but there are ways to avoid having to pay excessive amounts just to insure your first car, and many of them simply involve research. A lot of research, but when you put ten hours of comparing quotes next to a saving of hundreds, if not more, it tends to even out fairly quickly.
First, think about what cover you'll need, and start looking at insurance companies that offer quotes to beginner drivers at a level that prioritises their need for low-as-possible premiums. Using comparison sites is a great idea, but remember that large insurers' deals, like Aviva car insurance tend not to appear on these sites, so it's worth getting quotes from them directly, too.
If this is all a little overwhelming, then don't worry! Car insurance comparison websites have exploded in popularity in the last five years, and there's not a single one on the web that can't offer you some sort of help. But bear in mind that if you find out that company A is going to offer you price X for insurance through the comparison site, you can get it even cheaper. How? By going direct.
Comparison sites, and this is the reason many insurers don't truck with them, take commission from your quotes in order to keep themselves going. So if you use it as a research tool, and not a shopping basket, then you'll save even more money. Afterwards, you should feel a lot less stressed about finding the best deal for you.
It is also important to ensure that you are being dealt with as an adult - some insurers will attempt to cojole you into deals that may not be in your best interest as they will see you as an easier mark, but fear not! If anything, you're safer with large, established insurers who have a considerable reputation to protect and deal with complaints immediately.
Finally, relax, and think about what you want from the insurer. If it's full insurance, a good premium, various add-on services, or all or some of the above, then you're in the clear with this approach. Good luck, and happy driving.
I am also a member of the Cornwall Association of Approved Driving Instructors (CAADI).
