Pass Plus & Post Test Training

You may well have heard the expression “Well, you have passed your test, now you can learn to drive properly”.

Whilst that expression holds some truth in that you will continue to learn and gain experience throughout your driving career, you will benefit from some additional training after passing your test. Here at Drive Time we are happy to take you out for an hour or two in your own car after your test if that’s what you feel you need.

However, you will also benefit greatly from taking the Pass Plus Course.

If you successfully complete the Pass Plus Course, many insurance companies offer a very attractive discount.

And… Cornwall County Council are actively encouraging new drivers to participate in the scheme and are offering £75.00 towards the full cost. So, it will only cost you £75.00 (or £12.50 per hour).

DRIVETIME BLOG AND NEWS

It is worth pointing out just a couple of facts : Two young people under the age of 25 die every day in road crashes in Britain. During their first year of driving, one in five drivers is involved in a crash. Because of this, insurance for young drivers is extremely expensive.

Pass Plus is an initiative aimed at making you safer and giving you more confidence in your driving ability.

The Pass Plus Course will take a minimum of 6 hours of tuition with your normal driving instructor. There is no test at the end, your driving will be assessed as you learn and gain experience. Generally, Drive Time break the Pass Plus Course up into two sessions. The first involving an introduction and about an hour looking at in-town driving. The second session will last approx 5-6 hours and typically involves :

  • Driving to Plymouth includes preparing your own route and city centre driving
  • Driving up to Exeter, with a break at the service station
  • Driving up the M5 to Taunton and back with a break at the services
  • Drive back to West Cornwall

If possible, we will include some night time driving and all weather driving.
